Cape Breton Island struck my wife and me very intensely. In September of 1999 we arrived at the ferry dock in Englishtown Nova Scotia to cross St. Ann's Bay. We were captivated by the charm and beauty of the land and its people! It was a beautiful afternoon, clear and bright; the water was sparkling from the sun pouring down. The Cabot Trail to the north was our chosen route as we headed up the circuitous trail to the Highlands of Cape Breton. The Cabot Trail is in our opinion the most strikingly beautiful of the scenic routes on Cape Breton that we have explored so far. The rugged rocky promontory of Cape Smokey to the sand beaches of Ingonish and Black Brook in the Highlands National Park provide all you need for a relaxing summer time getaway. It is, by all accounts, a stunning land… imagine owning a piece of Cape Breton property!

We have found the winters to be mild and beautiful. Snowshoeing, Skiing and Hiking in general are a few of the very healthy pastimes that make for very pleasant seasons of relaxation and community activity. The community activity is enhanced after tourist season as the folks that over-winter here have time to gather and enjoy local musical activities and celebrations. You'll discover that acquiring a piece of Cape Breton property is far more than just a real estate investment.
